Tube Lines supports Barnet nursery school children

The Tube Lines Community Support Fund has boosted the fundraising efforts of Senior Engineer David Price, who is supporting his local nursery school, St Margaret’s in Barnet. David, along with other volunteers, has been helping the school raise funds for new musical equipment by arranging school raffles and various competitions.

St Margaret’s Nursery School is attended by over 100 children aged between three and five years old. The school is keen to buy new musical instruments which will help pupils develop basic key skills, and with the help of volunteers and a £300 donation from Tube Lines the school is able to invest in the new equipment.

Tube Lines’ Community Support Fund aims to support Tube Lines employees who help good causes through fundraising, volunteering or personal donations. The fund channels money raised through recycling the newspapers left on the Tube to good causes that are supported by its employees. Since the fund started in early 2007, Tube Lines has donated over £30,000 from the money generated through recycling activities.

Tube Lines Senior Engineer, David Price said:

“Tube Lines is responsible for many stations in the Barnet area, so it’s great we can help a local nursery. The nursery relies on donations to make ends meet and provide the best they can for the children. This donation will go a long way in helping us bring smiles to the faces of many young children.”

Louise Brooker-Carey, Director of Communications at Tube Lines, who chairs the Community Support Fund, said:

“The Community Support Fund shows Tube Lines’ commitment to giving back to the community. We are delighted in being able to support our employees like David who are involved in fundraising for good causes and will continue to do so in the future.”
