Over the first seven and a half years of its 30-year contract, Tube Lines is investing over £4.5 billion in rebuilding and maintaining the Jubilee line, Northern line and Piccadilly line.

During this period we will

• Upgrade 97 of our 100 stations (47 have been completed)
• Add 59 new carriages and four new trains to the Jubilee line (completed early 2006)
• Replace the signalling systems on the Jubilee line
• Prepare to replace the entire signalling system on the Northern line
• Improve the reliability of the Piccadilly line and the system as a whole
• Deliver a better travelling environment - clean, free from graffiti with enhanced personal safety for passengers
