Role and Responsibilities:

To provide a full range of building surveying services for the asset management of Tube Lines premises responsibilities to London Underground Limited on the Jubilee, Northern, and Piccadilly Lines.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Undertake condition & other surveys on a variety of railway stations and associate buildings.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets or business case budgets for planned premises works.
  • Liase with Projects to ensure improvement project incorporate those issues arising from the Survey/Inspection regime and the performance risk of the asset is minimised
  • Liase with Projects, agree handover strategy to ensure the completed works are acceptable and commissioned for Operations to take into service.
  • Be a member of a team that controls & manages the annual budget and contractors.
  • Provide technical input to ensure improvement projects and planned works are completed in an economic and efficient manner while mitigating the risk of Operations performance for faults, rectification, ambience and availability.
  • Liase with Premises Reactive Maintenance Manager to ensure building elements and components that are beyond economic repair or have become a maintenance liability are remedied under either an improvement project or planned works..
  • Ensure all works and premises comply with PPP contract requirements in regards to LUL standards, statutory legislation, and Tube Lines procedures.
  • Responsible for gaining all necessary approvals and giving assurance for all planned premises maintenance works.
  • Produce designs, specifications and schedule of works for all Premises Planned Works.
  • Produce specifications and schedule of works for all contracts developed to meet the need for planned premises works.
  • Project manage all planned premises works to ensure quality, health and safety, costs and programme requirements are effectively delivered.
  • Provide expert advice on building technology, particularly in the areas of building pathology and whole life costings to ensure best practice/ value for money is applied in the management of all premises.
  • Responsible for assisting in the development and building of effective and efficient teams.
  • Deliver all aspects of performance against both agreed set targets and goals.
  • Responsible for assessing the health, safety environmental and technical requirements of planned premises work.
  • Working with others, including appropriate people within Tube lines, LUL, colleagues, and other Infracos with the goal of ensuring that management time and expenditure is focused on areas of highest risk and understanding such issues in making decisions with the support of those other persons.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified to ONC/ HNC standard in Engineering or Building related discipline.
  • Working towards full membership of relevant professional body.
  • Experience delivering reactive maintenance within an Engineering role, Civil, Building, Electrical/Mechanical or Structural.
  • Experience of successfully managing a wide variety of small to medium-scale projects.
  • Experience of current London Underground safety and technical standards,
