Senior Discipline Engineer - Civils/Structure (Closing date: Ongoing)

Role and responsibilities:

  • To deliver professional structural engineering services oneself or through others and consultants
  • To manage external contracts for the provision of services
  • To prepare and deliver interpretive reports for outward transmission to the client via the Line or Project Manager.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Undertake Structural surveys and prepare reports and specifications for remedial works, to budget and programme.
  • Prepare designs, assurance evidence, calculations, reports and specification for works
  • Manage supplier contracts and ensure required services are provided to budget and programme schedule.
  • Prepare and issue technical briefs to service suppliers for professional engineering services.
  • Prepare period performance reports to the Line Manager.
  • For yourself and your reports ensure company procedures are followed for all the above.
  • Conduct and be subject to Audit

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Preferably Chartered Structural Engineer.
  • Experience of working within the confines of a Safety Critical, Operational, and customer utilised commercial environment
  • Knowledge of StaadPro, SuperStress and Microsoft office products
  • The incumbent needs to be fit enough to work in a difficult and safety critical environment and will need to be able to pass a medical for safety critical staff.
