Steve Hurrell was appointed Director of Finance for Tube Lines in December 2002. In this role he is responsible for managing the Financial and Services functions at Tube Lines which embraces, Finance, IT, Legal and Secretariat, Treasury, Insurance, Corporate Property and Facilities. Steve was directly involved in the PPP bid process and led the finance team to the successful conclusion and award of the contract on New Years Eve of 2002. Since then Steve has been responsible for the successful refinancing of the £2 Billion funding facility for the Tube Lines. During 2003/4 Steve also had the responsibility as Board sponsor for the successful delivery of the company’s extensive and challenging Enterprise system replacement programme called X.Calibre. Prior to joining Tube Lines Steve had extensive experience of the public sector privatisation process, having been part of the Jarvis team responsible for the acquisition and subsequent business transformation and development of a number of former British Rail businesses. As Finance Director of the Infrastructure Services Division, Steve developed and implemented strategies that delivered substantial profit growth within a framework of a highly unionised workforce and public sector culture.
