Diarmaid O’Tuathail has overall accountability for the management of health, safety and the environment in Tube Lines. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience that has been gained from over 17 years of working on the London Underground network and is bringing that expertise to bear on his approach to health, safety and the environment. His career on the Tube began when he was brought in to manage escalator works programmes following the King’s Cross fire in the late eighties. He was also part of London Underground’s management group that designed the safety arrangements for the PPP. Prior to Tube Lines taking over Diarmaid ran operations on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines. This combination of hands on experience and understanding provides him with valuable insight into the operation of the railway, the systems that support it and enable him to address the safety implications of our assets and people.
