Brian Sedar – Director of Projects

Brian has overall responsibility for delivering the large-scale improvement projects across the three lines to time and budget.  He is responsible for delivering significant Tube improvements to a cost of £2.2 billion by 2010, including the upgrade of 97 stations, the replacement and/or refurbishment of over 150 km of track and for increasing the capacity on the Jubilee line by 40%.

Brian has 26 years of project management experience in procurement, cost controls, rail and construction, bringing a wealth of experience and sound understanding of the challenges Tube Lines face.  A Senior Vice President at Bechtel, he joins Tube Lines from the High Speed 1 project – formerly the channel tunnel rail link.  As Project Director, Brian successfully led the large joint venture team of Arup, Bechtel, Halcrow and Systra to deliver section two of the high speed link from Kent to Central London, including the development of new Eurostar Depot, an underground domestic and two international stations, plus the historic renovation of St Pancras, all on time and within budget
